Hey there, fans! That Horror Show Podcast is back to unleash a new episode for this November and, boy, is it a doozy. Once again, the show’s hosts Timothy Kazda and Chris Koenig take a break from talking about the mainstream and reach back into the dusty vaults to find some movies that are a little more obscure, a little more unusual and, yes, a little more weird. Luckily, we managed to find three titles that caught our attention, as they are all helmed by minor cult director Jose Ramon Larraz! Never heard of him, you say? That’s okay; like we said, he’s a minor cult director…but, that doesn’t mean we can’t do a retrospective on them. Plus, it’s our show, so we can do whatever the hell we want!
So tune in and listen as the show’s dynamic duo tackles the recently unearthed horror-thriller “Symptoms” (1974), the more established “Vampyres” (1974), and the odd mix of sex-and-witchcraft (with the inclusion of a black goat added for, err, “good measure”…don’t ask!) of “Black Candles” (1982; also known as “Hot Fantasies”, or also known under its original Spanish title “Los Ritos Sexuales de Diablo”)! Sadly, there is no ‘What Have We Watched’ segment this time, but don’t worry for we’ll bring it back soon, we swear!
